Who doesn’t want better hair? As someone born with curly, crazy and totally unmanagable hair, I’m willing to try anything on my tresses. Luckily for me, I found Black 15 in 1 Miracle Hair Treatment!

I was sent a little TSA-Friendly set with Shampoo and Conditioner (as well as the treatment itself) to try the product. I could go through the laundry list of benefits that I’ve seen with it, but I’d much rather show you via video!

I will say that I do take very, very good care of my damaged hair, and I alternate this with Alterna Caviar, so it was important to me that the quality of these products also hold up. They passed the basic tests – smells great, sulfate-free and not overly harsh – so I jumped in.

I’m glad I did.

Get your own bottle of Black 15 in 1 Miracle Hair Treatment at Amazon.com or Drugstore.com.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I do work with PriceBlink.com. But they don’t pay me to write about the product. I do that on my own because I happen to love it.)

We’ve all had it happen – we’re doing our makeup and realize that we’ve just used the last bit of concealer. Or maybe you’re desperate for new scented thyme lotions, but don’t want to pay too much. I’m the kind of girl who drops some massive cash on makeup (and I don’t mind – I want it to work!) but I still expect to get a great deal while I’m shopping. Just because I love nice things doesn’t mean I don’t expect the price tag to be nice, too.

And then, I met PriceBlink.

One of my big scores with PriceBlink came through my one and only blush love – NARS Orgasm. I thought I’d scored a deal on Nordstrom, but was told by the plug-in that the blush was cheaper (and shipped free!) over at Sephora. I saved myself $7 and was a happy bunny.

Do you think about price when you’re shopping for beauty buys?

I do – that’s why PriceBlink makes sense for me. Get PriceBlink for Free (currently available for Firefox, Chrome and Safari, with IE very soon following!) and enjoy your sweet deals!

Here’s part of Kate’s Sibu Beauty review:

In addition to the other Sibu Beauty goodies mentioned before, I tested out their Age Defying Eye Cream, Repair and Protect Facial Cream, and Sea Buckthorn Body Cream. All of these creams have a light orangey, honey-colored glow, due to the natural rich orange color of their primary ingredient. They have an interesting, but not overpowering, aroma – an earthy fragrance reminiscent of cranberries, verbena, and oats. The Sea Buckthorn body cream has a triglyceride and glycerin base, with sea buckthorn oil, meadowfoam seed oil, shea butter, and aloe vera. When applied, it leaves a light-to-medium weight moisturizing layer. It dries quickly enough that if you put it on when you get out of the shower, enough will be absorbed into your skin so that it doesn’t feel like you’re applying it to your clothes instead! That said, the body cream does feel a touch on the greasy side, which is good when you want some longer-lasting moisture, but a trade off if your skin is on the oily side. Sibu recommends their body cream as an after-sun lotion, and I would agree given how quickly the lotion seems to dry combined with how well it moisturizes. And some of those antioxidants in the sea buckthorn oils and pulps may even help your skin repair a little of that UV damage.

Howdy from Krystal at PolishGalore! AKMD Skincare is a line of products produced by New York plastic surgeon Dr. Adam Kolker and his wife, Laurem Kolker. AKMD embodies the concepts of protection from photoaging, superficial resurfacing, rebuilding of collagen, promotion of cellular renewal, and replenishment of moisture, which all work in concert to provide you with healthier, glowing, and more youthful looking skin. One great thing about their products is that it’s broken down into 5 different skin types: dry, oily, combination, sensitive or mature. From there you can custom design what products you’re most interested or need for your skin.

Today I’m reviewing the Mini Kit/Normal to Oily skin ($34.50) which includes 6 products to be used in the morning and in the evening. AKMD was selected over thousands of products to be included in the VIP Celebrity “Swag Bags” at this year’s 82nd Academy Awards held in March 2010.

First step in the morning routine is to wet your face and apply a generous amount of Balancing Foaming Cleanser to your face and neck. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. The foam had a generic smell and rubbed into my skin with minimal effort. I used three pumps of the tube for each application.

Next you apply the Daily Hydroxy Peel pad. I actually didn’t receive this product in my kit like I was supposed to, and instead received the Alpha+Beta Peel, however a replacement package was sent to me to review so that arrived shortly. The pads are thin honeycomb woven cotton rounds soaked in the product. You just wipe it over your face and neck. There wasn’t any type of stinging or irritation, which I was nervous about but didn’t have to worry about in the end.

I did try the Alpha + Beta Peel which was a similar thin honeycomb woven cotton round but this one was very dry. AKMD emailed back and said that sometimes the pads can dry out in transport which might have been the case for me (again, it has been 100+ degrees every day for over a month), but I rubbed the pad over my face as directed. You are to leave the solution on your face for 15 minutes the first time, then wash it off. I didn’t feel any harsh effects from the peel, but I’m also not sure how effective it was, since the pad was dry.

The third step is to apply 1-2 drops of the Skin Renewal Serum. I applied one drop to each of the apples of my cheeks the first time since I wasn’t sure what I was doing. I tried to rub it in a bit, but it was an oil that just kind of sat on the surface. I emailed AKMD for more instructions, and was told that you just need to put a few drops in the palm of your hand and then use the other hand to wipe it onto the skin, don’t rub it in.

Finally you finish by applying the Daily Defense Replenishing Moisturizer, SPF 36. I was surprised that there was so much product in this tiny container and despite the beige color, it didn’t alter my skin tone at all. For about the first thirty minutes following, my skin felt tingly but good. Shortly after, I had to go outside where the temperature was well over 100 degrees, and while I did sweat, I wasn’t rubbing off any colored moisturizer, nor did it burn when it got near my eyes.

For your evening routine, you start again with the Balancing Foaming Cleanser followed by the Daily Hydroxy Peel pad. Next you apply the Multi Complex Night Renewal Cream which had a sweet smell to it but I accidentally got some on my lips and the taste was very soapy and not pleasant. It did make my skin feel very smooth and even a little tight but in a good way – not constricted but just firm.

Also in the kit is the Clarifying Facial Mask that is to be used 1-2 times a week. I did not have a chance to review this product.

I used this product for one week and I have to say for only $34.50, this was very worth the price. I had another outbreak of acne across my nose and along my jawline and within just my first day of testing the Mini Kit, all the acne spots had dried up where I could safely remove the blemish with a beauty tool. After the one week of use, my skin looked clearer, cleaner, and I had a bit of a glow – possibly from actually using moisturizer on my face (which is something I need to do daily, and always forget). The downsides I had was that I wanted to keep using the product but after the one week, I had used about 1/3rd of the kit’s contents. The other downside was that as soon as I stopped using AKMD, my face broke out again along my chin and cheek.

AKMD Skincare products including the Mini Kits can be purchased on their website.
