It’s main focus is anti-aging. Each tube is small, only about 1 oz but a little bit goes a very long way. I used 1 pump each time I washed my face and it was plenty.
So first, you start off with the anti-aging exfoliating face wash which smells like grapefruit. Awesome in the early morning because it really wakes up your skin and your senses. After patting your face dry, put on the anti-aging, brightening toner. The directions say to use extra on areas where you may have hyper-pigmentation. After that, use one pump of the serum and apply all over your face and neck.
When I first heard serum I was kind of worried. My skin is super sensitive to heavy oils and things like that, so I was afraid I was going to feel like my face couldn’t breathe, but I was wrong! The serum is impeccably light and makes my skin really silky smooth. After the serum has a minute to sink in a little bit I then used the eye cream.
The eye cream is to be used around the eyes, but not on the eyelid. It has reflecting shimmer in it which makes it optional to use concealer afterwards! I love this because I genetically have darker circles under my eyes (thanks, dad) and this really helped to make my skin look more even and my eyes brighter! This also had an awesome cooling effect which makes it feel like it’s instantly tightening your skin and erasing those wrinkles.
Now there are 2 final steps that vary for day and night. During the day the final step is an SPF 30.
(When I first used the travel sized SPF I was pretty turned off by the scent. It was like liquid latex mixed with eggs. It only lasts while you’re rubbing it into your skin but I have an extremely keen sense of smell so it was quite off-putting for me. But we reached out to the PR person – Elise – at HydroPeptide who assured us that this is not the standard scent of the product. They obviously believe in what they do – she sent us out a brand new bottle of the SPF quickly. Expect another review of that, soon!)
Like most people, when I see something labeled “SPF” I instantly think sunscreen; the smell, the thickness, the texture… But this isn’t anything like your normal SPF. This is really light and absorbs beautifully into your skin. No sticky residue or classic sunscreen scent left behind. I am kind of crazy about wearing sunscreen on daily basis so it was fantastic to see that this little kit had a tube of just SPF 30 lotion instead of incorporating it into something else. The SPF also has these little beads that break when your rub it in. This is a skin matching technology and it makes your skin look super smooth!
Now for your final night-time step: the power lift. This doesn’t have any SPF in it, but that’s okay since people don’t generally sleep under the blinding sun. The power lift is to be applied all over your face and, if you feel so inclined, you can use it as an additional moisturizer during the day. When I saw ’power lift’ I was so stoked. I’m only 23 but have already started waging war against impending wrinkles. I mean, if something called power lift isn’t going to get rid of those suckers, I don’t know what will.
Here is the website for HydroPeptide with all of the fancy scientific explanations for everything. But what speaks volumes for me is results, and this stuff delivers! Smooth, radiant skin every day is what they promise and that’s exactly what I got!
This travel kit is a little on the pricey side for those common folk like me at $90 a pop. But if you pull out all the stops for great skin, then this stuff is for you!
I also want to give a huge thanks to Elise – our PR contact at HydroPeptide – for awesome customer service! Keep up the good work!
