Hey Dude Aftershave
Not a lotion and not an alcohol-based aftershave, this is an aftershave toner. You can apply it like a typical liquid aftershave, or with a cotton ball if you’re into that, and won’t have any of the stinging commonly associated with liquid, alcohol-based aftershaves. Hey Dude also points out that it doesn’t have any “irritating fragrance,” which is true — it lacks any odor whatsoever. I personally like a little fresh scent, but the lack of fragrance also means that this aftershave should work for everyone regardless of your skin’s sensitivity. Seaweed extracts make another appearance, and the toner helped my face feel “normal” right after a shave. Hey Dude Moisturize
This moisturizer is great for men. It’s small, it’s effective, and it’s easy to apply. A little dab goes a long way, and it doesn’t have any scent or color (that I could determine). One squirt gave me just a little liquid but works for my entire beard area. Another squirt gave me enough for my temples, nose, forehead and upper cheeks. For my non-beard area, I stayed significantly less greasy through the day, which was impressive. For my beard area, my skin felt smooth and supple, which honestly is pretty similar to my normal aftershaves, but it was nice to have a quick-drying liquid that didn’t give me a sheen like lotion sometimes does. Eventually my face’s oils came through, much later than usual, and since I was away from home I tried wiping my face with a paper towel. Normally, this quick-and-dirty method will last only for a short while, but applying a simple moisturizer makes my face calm down in general — I was shine-free for hours. Tag-teaming this with Hey Dude’s facial cleansers is a great way to look and feel fresh without a lot of hassle and routine.
Hey Dude currently sells all of their own products from their website exclusively. The aftershave sells for $25 and Moisturize goes for $45, which seems like a lot but as I mentioned, these products are designed to maximize their effectiveness, and a very small amount is surprisingly effective.
